The Interlace, Singapore

The Interlace is one of the largest and most ambitious residential developments in Singapore with a radically new approach to contemporary living with 1,040 units sprawled over 170,000-sqm gfa. Designed by Ole Scheeren, partners of OMA, The Interlace adopts a new residential typology which breaks away from the standard isolated, vertical apartment towers of Singapore. Having won multiple awards, the most notable one being World Building of the Year for 2015, it is now an iconic Singapore landmark known throughout the world.This new approach challenged Crimsign to muster all facilities routes onto one main thoroughfare. Notwithstanding the complicated and complex block layout, the design team was able to successfully come up with an efficient way finding system that provided stress free connectivity of facilities and simplified orientation difficulties.
